  • There different ways in which kiwi fruits may be consumed and these include blending and eating them as they are. Consumption is highly dependent on age and health status, one cup of kiwi fruit is considered to be enough and sufficient per day.

  • Perspective from Kiran Dhaliwal

  • Kiwifruit is high in vitamin c which aids in the production of collagen, which is a key component in cells throughout the body such as skin. Vitamin C also speeds up the body's ability to heal wounds.
  • Kiwifruit also has good amounts of Vitamin E, which has great antioxidant properties. This enables us to protect our skin from sun damage which can prevent any further skin conditions.
  • Kiwifruit has fibre, potassium and antioxidants all of which help with heart health. Potassium relaxes the blood vessels, which can help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
  • As kiwifruit provides the body with a range of antioxidants it removes free radicals from the body, which can help prevent cancers.
  • Kiwifruit may prevent constipation due to fibre, its ability to retain water, which allows softer stool and great stool consistency.

Quantity Recommendation

  • Kiwi is a delicious and healthy fruit. It is safe for majority of people, however if you have a kiwi allergy please refrain from eating. Some symptoms include; swollen tongue, hives, tingling lips, difficulty swallowing. Eating 2 kiwi fruit per day can allow you to reach your Vitamin C needs, improve sleep quality and improve cardiovascular health.
